G.N.M ( General Nursing & Midwifery)

Duration: 3 years

Eligibility: 12 th/10 +2 with 40% Marks (Science, arts or Commerce)

Recognised by Government of Karnataka State Nursing Council, Bangalore and Indian Nursing Council- New Delhi G.N.M The General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) training Course is 3 years of duration with English as the medium Of instruction. Apart from theoretical training in class Rooms, the practical hospital training would be of paramount Importance .The course shall also include field training in Community Nursing and Midwifery. The General Nursing And Midwifery programme aims at preparing nursing professionals.

WHAT AFTER GNM?

One can work at Gov’t & Private Hospitals, private clinics, schools, and Rehabilitation centres as Home care nurse, infection Control nurse, ICU Nurse and OT Nurse.
One can also study further for post Basic Nursing(Which would make it equivalent to BSc Nursing) after Which they can even work in Educational institutions Besides Hospital.

B.Sc Nursing Programme

The Basic B.Sc Nursing is the 4 years degree programme affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University Health Science, Bangalore, Karnataka. This programme is approved by Karnataka State Nursing Council & India Nursing Council.

This programme aim at preparing the students to be competent professional nurses with scientific innovative ideas in solving health problems and in delivering quality health care.

Nursing is an important profession related to the field of medicine, students are given exposure to the theoretical and practical education and the courses are molded to imbibe the essence of both to make sure the student has hands on knowledge in every aspect fo the course.

The Courses are also designed to help develop abilites to work with other specialist medical and paramedical personnel, devise and demonstrate disease prevention and health promotion programmes, integrated principles of hygiene are taught in the course

Course Duration: 4 Years

Eligibility: 10+2 with 45% marks under science group with Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English

M.Sc Nursing programme

The duration of MSc Nursing program is two years. Examinations are held annually. The teaching is incorporated with clinical experience in respective specialties. The students are required to submit a dissertation as a partial fulfillment of the program. Students are given an experience of organising a workshop and conference with the support of faculty.

Course Duration: 2 Years

Eligibility: Pass in BSc/PC BSc/PB BSc Nursing recognised by Indian Nursing Council, and a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate.

Experience:

MSc Nursing applicants must have 1 year of experience as on 31.07.2016 after BSc Nursing in a hospital of at least 100 beds or in a community health program or in a school or college of nursing. PB BSc Degree holders need to have one year experience either before or after Post Basic BSc Nursing degree

D.PHARM- Diploma In Fharmacy

A Pharmacist's job is to prepare, mix, compound or dispense drugs and medicines, ointments, powder, pills, tablets and injections on the prescription of a medical practitioner, dentist or veterinarian. Pharmacist are concerned with production of pharmaceutical products, development of the methods or processes of production and quality control. Besides they assist the physician in rendering necessary information about various drugs, their contra-indications, incompatibility etc. Diploma in pharmacy students can set up own pharmacy or chemists and druggists shop to stock after registering with the state Pharmacy Council, of India. A Pharmacist can be a successful medical representative, with good communication skills and a flair for convincing people. Pharmacist can work with pharmaceutical industry, government departments, universities, teaching hospitals, investigation and research institute etc.

Admission Criteria for Diploma in Pharmacy (D.PHARM):

ELIGIBILITY: 10+2 WITH 40% MARKS IN SCIENCE STREAM(PCM/PCB)

A candidate seeking admission should have:

Minimum qualification for admission to Diploma in Pharmacy Part I course: A candidate should pass in any of the following examinations with Physics, Chemistry and Biology subjects:

  • Intermediate Examination in Science,
  • 10+2 examination (academic stream) in Science
  • Pre-degree examination or
  • Any other qualification approved by the PCI as equivalent to any of the above examinations

Duration of the Course:

The duration of the course shall be for two academic years, with each academic year spread over a period of not less than one hundred and eighty working days in addition to 500 hours practical training spread over a period of not less than 3 months.
